Memorandum of Understanding, City of Peoria Police Supervisors 

Purpose:

This is a request for City Council to consider a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for the City of Peoria Police Supervisors (COPPS) for the period of July 2017 through June 2021 establishing wages, hours, and conditions of work.
Background/Summary:

Pursuant to City Code Chapter 19, the meet and confer process began on September 21, 2016 and concluded on November 2, 2016 when the members of COPPS ratified this MOU.

 

The major components of this new MOU are as follows:

     *The agreement is for a four year period, beginning July 1, 2017 to June 30, 2021;

     *Establishes a new sick leave payout program;

     *Provides $1,000 in Professional Development Pay;

     *Provides one additional personal day for the life of the MOU; and

     *Provides a $1,000 final year payment in FY20.

Options:

A.  Approve the COPPS MOU in total for the period July 2017 through June 2021.

 

B.  Do not approve the COPPS MOU in total for the period July 2017 through June 2021 and return for re-negotiation with specific direction.

Staff Recommendation:

Discussion and possible action to approve the City of Peoria Police Supervisors Memorandum of Understanding in total for the period July 2017 through June 2021.

Fiscal Analysis:

The cost of the four-year program ranges from $111,469 to $114,422 per year dependent on the individual members use of the benefits as provided.
