| Standards of Financial Disclosure for Local Elected Officials |

| | | | | | | | Purpose:
Pursuant to the provisions of A.R.S. § 38-545, as amended, every incorporated city shall adopt standards of financial disclosure consistent with the provisions adopted by the legislature. |
| | | | | | | | Background/Summary:
Resolution 83-51 adopted on November 22, 1983 outlining the standards of financial disclosure, no longer reflects the current law. Pursuant to A.R.S. § 38-545 a city or town shall adopt standards of financial disclosure consistent with the state’s requirements.
The new requirements reflect the following changes:
- A new category requires reporting of certain travel-related expenses;
- Names of the public officer’s spouse or children are no longer required to be included on the financial disclosure statement;
- Allows the public officer to provide either a home or work address;
- Permits the financial disclosure statements to be filed in an electronic format as prescribed by the Secretary of State.
