| Legislative Update and Financial Overview |

| | | | | | | | Purpose:
Provide the Mayor and Council with an overview of the states legislative agenda and an early financial overview that serves as the foundation for the city’s baseline forecast in preparation for the upcoming FY 2018 budget and capital planning. |
| | | | | | | | Background/Summary:
The 53th Legislature, 1st Regular Session convenes on January 9, 2017. A staff presentation will recap past legislative agendas and provide some thoughts regarding federal and state priorities that may be considered at the Legislature this coming year. Staff will also discuss City of Peoria priorities and draft legislative bills for possible introduction during this session.
Following up on the legislative overview, Management and Budget staff will discuss key economic and financial trends, review recent legal decisions and legislative actions that have impacted the city’s financial position and provide other relevant financial information in preparation for the FY2018 budget discussions. |
