The Bridge Forum 

Background/Summary:

The Police Department was invited to participate in The Bridge Forum in Scottsdale on January 23, 2017.  The Bridge Forum is an interactive summit designed to foster result-oriented dialogue between law enforcement professionals, community based organizations and government leaders.  The discussion highlighted successful community engagement practices with the intention of replicating them in communities both locally and nationwide.  Discussion of best practices creates a foundation for increased understanding and improved relations.  Participants included Governor Ducey, Mayor Carlat, Chief Minter and various government officials, police chiefs and community partners.

 

Following the conclusion of the event, a “book in a day” is authored to capture perspectives about community policing and police professionalism.  This will expand the understanding of community policing best practices and help develop additional research regarding community policing.  More information can be found at www.thebridgeforum.com.
