| Code Amendment, Renumber Chapter 4 to Chapter 16, Animals |

| | | | | | | | Purpose:
This is a request for City Council to adopt an Ordinance renumbering current Chapter 4 (Animals) to Chapter 16 and amending various sections of the Peoria City Code. |
| | | | | | | | Background/Summary:
As discussed at the January 24, 2017 Council Study Session, City staff began a comprehensive review of the City Code in July 2016. A comprehensive review of the City Code has not been completed for many years. As a result of the review, staff is recommending that the arrangement of the code chapters be changed to reflect a systemic order. Staff is recommending that the current Peoria City Code Chapter 4 (Animals) become Chapter 16 (Animals). Chapter 4 will be replaced by a new chapter focused on elections at a later council meeting. Highlights of the amended changes to the new Chapter 16 (Animals) includes:
- Administrative formatting and wording for consistency in the City Code.
- The definitions of Bird, Cat, Reptile and Swine.
- Changes to violation penalties.
