| Code Amendment, Renumber Chapter 7 to Chapter 10, Civil Emergencies, Emergency Services; and amending various sections of the Peoria City Code. |

This is a request for City Council to adopt an Ordinance renumbering current Chapter 7 (Civil Emergencies, Emergency Services) to Chapter 10 and amending various sections of the Peoria City Code.

| | | | | | | | Background/Summary:
As discussed at the January 24, 2017 Council Study Session, City staff began a comprehensive review of the City Code in July 2016. A comprehensive review of the City Code has not been completed for many years. As a result of the review, staff is recommending that the arrangement of the code chapters be changed to reflect a systemic order. Staff is recommending that the current City Code Chapter 7 (Civil Emergencies, Emergency Services) become Chapter 10 (Civil Emergencies, Emergency Services). Chapter 7 will be replaced by a new chapter focused on Parks and Recreation at a later council meeting.
Highlights of the amended changes to the new Chapter 8 (Special Municipal Events) include:
- Administrative formatting and wording for consistency in the City Code
- Updated definitions
- A comprehensive hazard mitigation plan be adopted and maintained
