Intergovernmental Agreement, Office of the Attorney General, Use of the Peoria Police Department Indoor Shooting Range 

Purpose:

Discussion and possible action authorizing the City Manager to approve an Intergovernmental Agreement with the Office of the Attorney General to use the Peoria Police Department Indoor Shooting Range.

Summary:

This IGA is an agreement between the between the City of Peoria, Arizona (“Peoria”), and the State of Arizona, Office of the Attorney General, to use the Peoria Police Department Indoor Shooting Range. 

 

The Attorney General has requested use of the Peoria Police Department indoor shooting range to provide their special agents with a location to conduct trainings and to qualify with their firearms. Use of the indoor range will be coordinated with the Peoria Police Department Rangemaster. All Peoria Police Department policies and procedures related to range operations will be adhered to by Attorney General personnel while using the range. 

 

This agreement will be effective until June 30, 2019, and will automatically renew for one-year terms unless terminated by either party. 


Options:

A: Authorize the IGA with the City of Peoria, Arizona, and State of Arizona, Office of the Attorney General, to use the Peoria Police Department Indoor Shooting Range.

 

B: Choose not to authorize the IGA with the State of Arizona, Office of the Attorney General.

Staff Recommendation:

Staff recommends authorizing the IGA with the State of Arizona, Office of the Attorney General, to use the Peoria Police Department Indoor Shooting Range.

Fiscal Analysis:

This IGA creates no fiscal impact on the City of Peoria.
