| | | | | | | | Purpose:
Discussion and possible action to approve an amended and restated Intergovernmental Agreement with the City of Surprise and City of Goodyear regarding the grant funded Community Paramedicine program through United HealthCare.
| | | | | | | | Summary:
This Intergovernmental Agreement is to delineate the change in the City of Peoria and the Fire Department’s involvement in a previously awarded grant from United HealthCare for a Regional Community Paramedicine Program. This agreement specifies the City of Peoria’s involvement as an administrator in support of the cities of Surprise and Goodyear.
| | | | | | | | Previous Actions/Background:
In September 2019 the City entered into an Intergovernmental Agreement with the cities of Surprise and Goodyear, to collectively provide a Regional Community Paramedicine Program with funding provided through a grant from United HealthCare. The City of Peoria was the recipient and administrator of the grant funds. When The City of Peoria began its own separately funded Community Paramedicine program, Peoria was no longer able to support the regional effort with staffing. United Healthcare, City of Surprise, and City of Goodyear all requested that Peoria continue to administer the funds related to the program. This Intergovernmental Agreement represents the change in Peoria’s participation in the grant process.
