Cantina Gueros, is a new restaurant located at 25315 N. Lake Pleasant Parkway. The new owners have applied for a New Restaurant (Series 12) Liquor License.  The application agent is Joseph P. Lucidi.

A Series 12 Restaurant license is a non-transferable license that allows for the restaurant to sell and serve all types of spirituous liquor solely for consumption on the premises.  A Restaurant license requires that at least forty percent (40%) of the restaurant’s gross revenue comes from the sale of food.  Failure to meet the 40% food requirement may result in revocation of the license.

Some of the businesses around Cantina Gueros are Fry’s Marketplace, Lowe’s Home Improvement and Village Inn. There are no staff concerns with Cantina Gueros.  The public hearing notice was posted for at least 20 days, and no comments were received during the posting period.  The license application was reviewed according to State law and all Departments gave approvals.

Tom Yum Thai Restaurant, is a new restaurant located at 9940 W. Happy Valley Road #1050. The new owners have applied for a New Restaurant (Series 12) Liquor License.  The application agent is Tara Brooks.

Chevron Gas Station, is an existing gas station, located at 9080 W. Olive Avenue. The new owners have applied for a New Wine and Beer (Series 10) Liquor License.  The application agent is Mukhpal S. Toor.

A Series 10 permits the retail sale of beer and wine for consumption off premises.

Some of the businesses around Chevron Gas Station are Quiktrip, Fry’s Food and McDonalds.  There are no staff concerns with Chevron Gas Station.  The public hearing notice was posted for at least 20 days, and no comments were received during the posting period.  The license application was reviewed according to State law and all Departments gave approvals.

In March 2018, the Mayor and Council recommended approval to the Arizona State Liquor Board for Native Grill & Wings for a New Series 12 Restaurant Liquor License located at 25315 N. Lake Pleasant Parkway.

In November 2012, the Mayor and Council recommended approval to the Arizona State Liquor Board for Gyros Town for a New Series 12 Restaurant Liquor License located at 9940 W. Happy Valley Road #1050.

Pursuant to Arizona Law the City must make a recommendation to the State Liquor Board regarding the approval of applications to sell alcoholic beverages in the City. The Standard for the City’s recommendation is whether the best interest of the community will be served by the issuance of these licenses and whether the public convenience is served.  Staff recommends approval of the above licenses.
