Board and Commission Appointments 
Purpose:

Discussion and possible action to approve the recommendations from the Council Boards and Commissions Subcommittee and adopt RES. 2021-49 appointing/reappointing members to various boards and commissions.

Summary:

The Council Boards and Commissions Subcommittee makes recommendations for board and commission membership based on term expirations, vacancies from resignations, or changes to member eligibility status.

Previous Actions/Background:

On May 11, 2021, the Council Boards and Commissions Subcommittee made the following appointment/reappointment recommendations:

 

Arts Commission

Suzanne Roy

Savita Devine

 

Economic Development Advisory Board

Mitchell Bolnick

Neil Terry

 

Judicial and Public Defender Advisory Board

James Hann

 

Public Safety Personnel Retirement System Boards – Fire/Medical

Staff Recommendation:

This is a request for City Council to appoint/reappoint Board and Commission members as follows:

 

  • Reappoint Suzanne Roy as a regular member of the Arts Commission with a term to expire December 31, 2023
  • Appoint Savita Devine as a regular member of the Arts Commission with a term to expire June 30, 2023
  • Reappoint Mitchell Bolnick as a regular member of the Economic Development Advisory Board for a term to expire June 30, 2023
  • Reappoint Neil Terry as a regular member of the Economic Development Advisory Board for a term to expire December 31, 2023
  • Reappoint James Hann as a regular member of the Judicial and Public Defender Advisory Board for a term to expire June 30, 2023
  • Reappoint George Johnson as a regular member of the Public Safety Personnel Retirement System Board – Police for a term to expire June 30, 2023
  • Reappoint George Johnson as a regular member of the Public Safety Personnel Retirement System Board – Fire/Medical for a term to expire June 30, 2023
