Summary:

For the third time, the Commission on Fire Accreditation International (CFAI), governed by the Center for Public Safety Excellence (CPSE), has awarded the Peoria Fire-Medical Department accredited-agency status.

 

During the virtual accreditation hearing held Tuesday May 18, 2021, Peoria Fire-Medical Department received a unanimous 11-0 vote for approval by the commission and is one of 250 departments nationwide to receive the prestigious internationally accredited-agency status.

 

The CFAI accreditation is a voluntary process requiring the Fire-Medical Department to evaluate the quality of its fire and emergency medical  services using internationally recognized industry standards in order to develop a path for continued growth.
