Discussion and possible action to approve an amendment to the Intergovernmental Agreement with the Peoria Unified School District, for facility use and development processing to extend the Agreement for one additional year.

The City has enjoyed a longstanding and beneficial relationship with the Peoria Unified School District (PUSD), including the availability of joint use of facilities and for development processing of PUSD proposed improvements. The City and PUSD entered into this IGA on May 12, 2022 and it is presently set to expire on May 12, 2023. The parties desire to extend the term in order to have the IGA effective through May 12 ,2024. This agreement includes an Addendum that allows funding from a separate source to be used to cover maintenance and repairs to the licensed childcare areas in PUSD facilities. All other terms and conditions of the Intergovernmental Agreement are to remain in full force and effect.

The PUSD Governing Board will be voting to approve this Amendment at an upcoming meeting on April 27, 2023.

May 12, 2022 – Approval of the IGA

Staff recommends that the City Council approve and direct the City Manager to sign the Amendment of the IGA for facility use and development processing between the City of Peoria and the Peoria Unified School District.

This IGA creates no fiscal impact on the City of Peoria or to the Peoria Unified School District.
