Discussion and possible action to adopt ORD. 2023-09 amending Chapter 26, Procurement Code of Peoria City Code. |
| | | | | | | | Summary:
Staff is recommending that City Code Chapter 26 (Procurement Code) be amended. Modifications being proposed include:
- Due to increasing costs of equipment and contracts, the dollar amount for City Manager discretionary authority is being proposed to be increased from $50,000 to $100,000. This figure aligns with the Single/Sole Source authority already established by the current code.
- Due to increasing costs of construction, the dollar amount for a single project under job order contracting is being proposed to be increased from $3,000,000 to $5,000,000.
- Expanded list of certain procurement exemptions for transactions where competition is not available; such as rental of city facilities, sponsorships, electricity, utilities, advertising, copyrighted materials, limited water/wastewater treatment plant specialized equipment, postage, etc.
