Intergovernmental Agreement, Maricopa County Library District, Library Assistance Program 

Purpose:

Discussion and possible action to approve an Intergovernmental Agreement with the Maricopa County Library District to maintain the Library Assistance Program, which facilitates the purchase of library materials for the Library System.

Summary:

The Maricopa County Library District (MCLD) continues its Library Assistance Program Intergovernmental Agreement (IGA).  Under this IGA, MCLD will identify an annual funding amount to facilitate purchases and provide additional services for the Library System. The County vendors and financial resources will be used for the purchase of library materials.  The Peoria Library System is projected to receive approximately $131,656 in library materials and Integrated Library System support in FY24. The term of this IGA is through June 30, 2028, and includes additional services of Integrated Library Systems support (Section II, #2), and Materials Sharing through Valley-wide operating software, Inn-Reach (Section II, #3).

Previous Actions/Background:

City Council has previously approved the IGA with Maricopa County Library District in 2018 and 2013, each for five year agreements.

Fiscal Analysis:

The Library Assistance Program allows the Peoria Library System to receive additional materials and services outside of its operational budget.
