Discussion and possible action to adopt RES. 2023-82 authorizing the City Manager to execute an Easement for Public Utilities along the north side of Happy Valley Road east of 79th Lane adjacent to the proposed Trailhead development. |
| | | | | | | | Summary:
Development of the vacant land at the northeast corner of 83rd Avenue and Happy Valley Road has triggered the installation of new and relocation of existing public utilities along the project frontage. As part of the development process, the developer will dedicate an Easement for Public Utilities adjacent to the existing right of way. Due to the varying width of the Happy Valley Road right of way, staff has been working with the developer to mitigate any potential issues that may arise for the installation/maintenance of the public utilities. To eliminate the sharp angles in the developer’s public utility easement, created by the varying right of way width at the eastern edge of the project, the City will grant an easement for public utilities to provide a contiguous utility corridor. |

Staff recommends that City Council approve the adoption of the attached Resolution authorizing the execution of the easement. |
