Discussion and possible action to approve a contract with Rosenbauer Minnesota LLC to purchase a ladder truck in the amount of $1,626,534, in accordance with budget authority previously approved by Council.

As part of the Fleet Reserve Fund and the City’s budget process, the Peoria Fire-Medical Department and Fleet Advisory Committee, determined an existing ladder truck, vehicle number 1594 is due for replacement.  The actual cost for the vehicle is $1,626,534. There is a discount of $81,377, if paid in full at time of order.

The ladder truck will cost $1,545,157 after the discount of $81,377, when paid in full at time of order. The total cost, without the discount, is $1,626,534.

The proposed contract price is valid through December 31, 2023 and projected delivery time of the engine is approximately 22 months after date of order. The purchase of the ladder truck will allow the Fire-Medical Department to continue to provide superior public safety services.

Funding for this acquisition is available in FY2024 in the Fleet Equipment Reserve Fund.

Staff recommends that City Council approve to a contract with Rosenbauer Minnesota LLC to purchase a ladder truck in the amount of $1,626,534, in accordance with budget authority previously approved by Council.

Funding of $1,626,534 is available in the Reserve Fund Other Vehicles Account 3100-3500-542505 to cover the manufacturer cost to purchase the replacement ladder truck.
