|
| | | | | | | | Purpose:
Discussion and possible action to award a contract in the amount of $1,805,008 to contractor, Nesbitt Contracting Company, Inc. pursuant to Job Order Contract, ACON09322 for Pavement Maintenance and Repair Services for 83rd Avenue; Thunderbird Road to Skunk Creek Bridge. |
| | | | | | | | Summary:
A technical survey was completed and presented to City Council on March 3, 2021 as part of the Public Works Streets Division’s Pavement Management Program. The survey information was used to prioritize needed treatment schedules based on operational goals and objectives that are part of the lifecycle maintenance program. The evaluation of 83rd Avenue, Thunderbird Road to Skunk Creek Bridge indicated age and cracking have degraded the road beyond a preservation treatment. The survey results indicated this section of road as a priority in this fiscal year to restore pavement surface conditions. Recommended treatment of this roadway section is a mill and overlay using high-volume asphalt concrete. This "mill and overlay" will eliminate multiple distresses, provide a smoother riding surface, and extend the pavement lifecycle. |
