Fire-Medical Grant Funding
The Fire-Medical Department was awarded a $136,939 grant from the Tohono O’odham Nation’s 12 percent gaming distribution grant program. The Fire-Medical Department’s grant proposal requested funding for the purchase of Galleri Cancer Detection Screenings. The purpose of the cancer screenings is to enhance the early detection and prevention efforts within our firefighting community.
Investing in this cancer screening initiative for our firefighters will significantly contribute to their well-being, health, and quality of life. By identifying cancer at its earliest stages, we can ensure timely treatment and improve the chances of successful outcomes. Moreover, this program will send a powerful message of support and care to our firefighters, demonstrating our commitment to their safety and welfare.
Arizona Broadway Theater
As non-governmental entities, 501c3 organizations awarded funding by the various Indian Communities must collaborate with a governmental entity which serves as a pass-through organization, as required by law. The Arizona Broadway Theater, a 501c3 organization has requested the city serve as a pass-through for funding from the Tohono O’Odham Nation. The Arizona Broadway Theater is located in Peoria and was awarded $49,039 from the Tohono O’odham Nation. |
