Peoria has had a water conservation program for more than thirty years. The program began, in part, because cities in the Active Management Areas (“AMA”) were required to include conservation practices under the 1980 Groundwater Management Act. Peoria’s program has seen many changes over time and has recently undergone an update ahead of additional requirements under the latest AMA Management Plans. Peoria’s water conservation and sustainability team will present on all of the conservation programs Peoria provides to customers as well as a newly released online dashboard to better communicate Peoria’s sustainability plan.
