|
| | | | | | | | Summary:
Each year, the Peoria City Council provides two of Peoria’s Youth Advisory Board members with the opportunity to serve as non-voting members at City Council meetings. Known as the "Youth Council Liaison Program," it provides the two selected members a positive civic experience in the art of governance, and an opportunity to share their youth perspectives on Council agenda items. This year, Ana Shrivatava and Allyz Whetstine served as the two Youth Council Liaisons and were sworn in on August 15th, 2023. Over the past nine months, Ms. Shrivatava and Ms. Whetstine have actively participated in City Council meetings, attended numerous community events, and have shared a youth perspective on City Council issues. Their leadership and insight have been invaluable.
As the 2023-24 school year is coming to an end, both Ms. Shrivatava and Ms. Whetstine will be recognized for their service on the Council as Youth Council Liaisons. |
