Discussion and possible action to approve an intergovernmental agreement between the City of Peoria and the City of Phoenix to establish Amkor Technology, Inc. within foreign trade zone. |
| | | | | | | | Summary:
Amkor Technology is seeking to establish their Peoria facility as a foreign trade zone. Establishment of a foreign trade zone in Peoria may be accomplished through the Greater Maricopa Foreign Trade Zone #277 or the Phoenix Foreign Trade Zone #75.
Section 4.2.6 of the City of Peoria's approved Development Agreement with Amkor Technology Arizona specifically states the following: Upon Company’s request, the City will make reasonable efforts to assist and cooperate with Company throughout Company’s Foreign Trade Zone (“FTZ”) application process. City makes no representations or warranties, express, implied, statutory, or otherwise, concerning the impact or quality of any cooperation or assistance provided by City. Company will be the responsible party as to the Phoenix Foreign Trade Zone No. 75, FTZ process, and the entire FTZ program including concurrence letters.
This action is in concurrence with the City's obligations under the Development Agreement. |
