| Easement, Arizona Public Service, Peoria Sports Complex 83rd Avenue and Stadium Way |
|
| | | | | | | | Purpose:
Discussion and possible action to adopt RES. 2024-66 authorizing the City Manager to execute an easement to Arizona Public Service for the installation and maintenance of new infrastructure serving current and future projects located at the Peoria Sports Complex at 83rd Avenue and Stadium Way. |
| | | | | | | | Summary:
In March 2024, the Mayor and City Council approved a contract amendment to Haydon Building Corp to construct new underground conduit infrastructure that allows Arizona Public Service (APS) to serve current and future expansion at the Peoria Sports Complex.
The construction of the APS infrastructure is underway to deliver power to the new Sports Complex Maintenance Shop and Equipment Yard. The new infrastructure establishes looped power redundancy prudent for serving the existing multi-carrier cell tower and a future municipal well site. In addition, the new infrastructure will serve future lighted ballfields and enables future buildings contemplated by the Seattle Mariners and the San Diego Padres behind their respective clubhouses. At current, all APS power infrastructure serving the clubhouses and fields is at capacity and cannot be expanded. |
