Discussion and possible action to approve a budget amendment in the amount of $334,934 for courtroom audio, video equipment and security x-ray system in the Municipal Court necessary to meet required standards from the Judicial Branch of Administration. 

As a part of the Fiscal Year 2025 budget process, the Municipal Court identified the need to replace courtroom AV equipment and the security x-ray system.  The FY2025 supplementals did not reflect market adjustments and a 5-year support maintenance contract.  

 An amendment for $334,934 is requested to acquire the courtroom AV and security x-ray system.  

Staff recommends that City Council approve a budget amendment not to exceed $334,934 from the General Fund Contingency account to the Municipal Court account for the purchase of the courtroom AV equipment and security x-ray system.

One-time request to cover the supplementals that include cost increase and the 5-year maintenance contract in the amount of $334,934.  

The $334,934 budget amendment will use one-time funds from the General Fund Contingency to Municipal Court to cover the market adjustments and the 5-year maintenance contract for the courtroom AV technology and security x-ray system. 

The Administrative Office of the Courts (AOC) has approved the application submitted by Municipal Court.  The approved grant in the amount of $238,000 can be used for the costs associated with a courthouse wide audiovisual project for fiscal years 24/25.
