| Canvass of November 5, 2024 General Election |

Discussion and possible action to adopt RES. 2024-94 approving the official Canvass for the November 5, 2024, General Election.

| | | | | | | | Summary:
Pursuant to Arizona Revised Statutes § 16-642, City Council must meet and canvass the General Election held on November 5, 2024. The canvass is the act that declares the election results official. State Statute requires the canvass to be completed not less than six days and not more than twenty days following the election. The deadline for this action is November 25, 2024.

| | | | | | | | Previous Actions/Background:
On January 16, 2024, City Council directed the City Clerk to publish the Call and Notice of Election for a citywide Primary Election on August 6, 2024, and a General Election on November 6, 2024.
On February 20, 2024, City Council amended the call of election due to Emergency Measure HB 2785, which moved the Primary Election from August 6, 2024 to July 30, 2024.
On June 11, 2024, City Council adopted RES. 2024-45 placing the approval of a franchise agreement between EPCOR Water Arizona Inc., and the City of Peoria to provide Water and Wastewater services within the City of Peoria boundaries on the General Election ballot and approved a budget amendment to appropriate funds, provided by EPCOR, to pay the election expenses.
