Ratification of Past Action Taken on November 25, 2024 

Purpose:

Discussion and possible action to ratify the November 25, 2024 action to adopt RES. 2024-94 approving the Official Canvass of the November 5, 2024, General Election, pursuant to A.R.S. 38-431.05(B).
Summary:

On November 25, 2024, Council held a virtual special meeting to confirm and adopt the official canvass of the November 5, 2024, General Election. During the meeting, a technical issue occurred with the live stream and the meeting was not recorded or streamed. As a result, the public did not have access to the meeting, as required by A.R.S. 38-431.01. Ratification is appropriate here because it allows the Council to retroactively validate the prior action and preserve the November 5, 2024 effective date. 

 

The Maricopa County Board of Supervisors approved the City's canvass on Thursday, November 21, 2024, and the Secretary of State's Office certified the results on Monday, November 25, 2024.
