Discussion and possible action to adopt RES. 2024-98 authorizing the City Manager to execute two Temporary Construction Easements with Maricopa County Department of Transportation for the construction of improvements associated with the Northern Parkway Project within the City owned parcels located North of the Northwest corner of 99th Avenue and Northern and also the Northwest corner of 108th Drive and Northern.

An Intergovernmental Agreement (IGA) between Maricopa County, Peoria, Glendale and El Mirage was approved by Council in August 2008.  Per the IGA, Maricopa County has been the lead agency for this multi-phased project.  Maricopa County needs to secure the temporary land rights from the City’s parcels to allow for the project tie-in the new construction to existing driveways and sidewalks and restore any landscaping that may be disturbed by construction activities.

• August 2008 – City Council approved the IGA to partner with the multi-agency Northern Parkway improvement project.

Staff recommends that City Council approve the adoption of the attached Resolution authorizing the execution of the Temporary Construction Easements for the construction of improvements associated with the next phases of the Northern Parkway project within Peoria city limits.
