Data Access/Exchange Agreement, Arizona Department of Transportation


Purpose: Discussion and possible action to authorize the City Manager to renew the Data Access/Exchange Agreement between the City of Peoria and the Arizona Department of Transportation to access the Crash Records Information System Database to submit electronic crash records and/or Arizona Crash Information System to analyze and retrieve crash data of the Arizona Department of Transportation.


Summary: This Agreement allows the City of Peoria to access ADOT's Crash Records Information System (CRIS) Database via approved direct program-to-program interactions over an approved persistent connection and to submit electronic crash records information contained in such database. This Agreement allows the City of Peoria to access its Arizona Crash Information System (ACIS) via an approved secure gateway to run queries and retrieve crash data strictly for the purposes of safety analysis. The five-year agreement allows for extension of the agreement upon both agencies signing a Joint Letter of Renewal.


Previous Actions/Background: This agreement has been approved to execute and renew since 2009.


Options: A: Authorize the City Manager to execute the Data Access/Exchange Agreement between the Arizona Department of Transportation and the City of Peoria B: Choose not to execute this Data Access/Exchange Agreement between Arizona Department of Transportation and the City of Peoria


Staff Recommendation: Discussion and possible action to authorize the City Manager to execute the Data Access/Exchange Agreement between the City of Peoria and the Arizona Department of Transportation.


Fiscal Analysis: This Agreement creates no fiscal impact on the City of Peoria.
