Discussion and possible action to request City Council approval to accept funding from the Federal Transit Administration Section 5310 Enhanced Mobility of Seniors and Individuals with Disabilities Program in the amount of $166,974, with a required local match of $166,974, to support the City’s ongoing efforts to provide accessible and equitable transportation services for seniors and individuals with disabilities.

The Federal Transit Administration (FTA) Section 5310 program provides federal assistance for projects that improve mobility for seniors and individuals with disabilities by removing barriers to transportation service and expanding mobility options. The City of Peoria applied for and has been awarded $166,974 in federal funding through the Maricopa Association of Governments (MAG) Human Services Transportation Coordination Program (HSCTP).
The awarded funds will be utilized to enhance and maintain Peoria’s WeRIDE program by improving access to essential destinations such as medical facilities, employment centers, and social service agencies. The required 100% local match of $166,974 will be met through existing FY26 budgeted funds within the City’s Transit Division.
