Discussion and possible action: to (a) approve a grant award from Creative West in the amount of $2,750 for Black History Month, and (b) approve a budget amendment for $2,750 from Contingency to Arts and Culture. |
| | | | | | | | Summary:
The City of Peoria Arts, Culture and Library Services Department has been awarded a $2,750 2025-2026 TourWest grant from Creative West. This funding will support the city’s Black History Month Presentation of the Langston Hughes Project at the Peoria Center for the Performing Arts (PCPA) on Wednesday February 25, 2026, at 7 p.m. This presentation will supplement existing cultural programming during the month. Programs include Vision and Sound: An African American Experience presentations in partnership with Sedona Art Center consisting of exhibitions in both libraries and a Global Sounds Concert on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, at the PCPA. These distinctive arts and cultural experiences are inclusive gatherings that serve to educate audiences and celebrate the diversity and cultural traditions within our community. |
