Discussion and possible action to: (a) authorize the Peoria Police Department to accept a grant in the amount of $89,101 from the Arizona Department of Public Safety, Anti-Human Trafficking Grant Program to fund training and travel, supplies, and equipment to the Peoria Police Department's Human Exploitation and Trafficking Unit; (b) approve a budget amendment in the amount of $89,101 from the Proposed Grants Contingency Fund to the Miscellaneous Police Grants Fund.

The Peoria Police Department desires to participate in the Arizona Department of Public Safety (DPS) Anti-Human Trafficking Grant Program. This program awards grant funding to agencies in order to provide resources to support the reduction of human trafficking and to improve identification of and services to trafficking victims in the state of Arizona. The grant funds will be utilized to provide training to help prevent and identify human trafficking. The funds will also be used to purchase new equipment and supplies to aid in the investigation and prosecution of human trafficking crimes. Grant funds must be expended by June 30, 2026.
