Discussion and possible action to recommend approval to the State Liquor Board for: a New Restaurant (Series 12) Liquor License for Caldwell County BBQ, located at 8315 W. Washington Street, Travis C. Taylor, Applicant, LL#25-010930. |
| | | | | | | | Summary:
Caldwell County BBQ, is a new barbecue restaurant located at 8315 W. Washington Steet. The owners have applied for a New Restaurant (Series 12) Liquor License. The application agent is Travis C. Taylor.
A Series 12 Restaurant license is a non-transferable license that allows for the restaurant to sell and serve all types of spirituous liquor solely for consumption on the premises. A Restaurant license requires that at least forty percent (40%) of the restaurant’s gross revenue comes from the sale of food. Failure to meet the 40% food requirement may result in revocation of the license.
Some of the businesses around Caldwell County BBQ are Theater Works, Fire House Event Center & Bar and Carniceria Sonora. There are no staff concerns with Caldwell County BBQ. The public hearing notice was posted for at least 20 days, and no comments were received during the posting period. The license application was reviewed according to State law and all Departments gave approvals.

Pursuant to Arizona Law the City must make a recommendation to the State Liquor Board regarding the approval of applications to sell alcoholic beverages in the City. The standard for the City’s recommendation is whether the best interest of the community will be served by the issuance of these licenses and whether the public convenience is served. Staff recommends approval of the above licenses. |
