Discussion and possible action to adopt ORD. 2026–01 amending Chapters 2, 7, 9, 13, 14, 18, 24, 25 of the Peoria City Code pertaining to the Water Services Department. |

A proposed code amendment to adopt ORD. 2026-01, which amends Chapters 2, 7, 9, 13, 14, 18, 24, and 25 of the Peoria City Code relating to the Water Services Department.
The Water Services Department was established in 2019 but has not yet been formally recognized in the City Code. This ordinance updates the Code to officially establish the department. In addition, references in these chapters currently identify the “Public Works – Utilities Director.” Since that position no longer exists, the ordinance revises the language to reflect the Water Services Department exclusively. |
