| | | | | | | | SUBJECT:
| Neighborhood Park Naming- Lake Pleasant Heights/Mystic |
|
| | | | | | | | Purpose:
Discussion and possible action to adopt the recommended name, Mystic Park, for the neighborhood park at Lake Pleasant Heights, located at El Mirage and Westland Road. |
| | | | | | | | Summary:
The developer-built neighborhood park is in the northern area of the city and encompasses 10.67 acres, of which approximately 5.5 acres are considered usable for park development. This is an example of additional neighborhood park constructed without additional General Fund or bond financing commitments. The neighborhood park site is intended to serve residents of the Mystic neighborhood and surrounding communities. The park will offer amenities consistent with other Peoria neighborhood parks, including a lighted multi-purpose sports field, shaded inclusive playgrounds, shaded picnic ramadas, lighted sport courts, restrooms, parking facilities and lighted walking paths. This park is currently under construction and is expected to be added to the city’s parks inventory at the beginning of FY27. |
| | | | | | | | Staff Recommendation:
The citizen advisory Parks, Recreation, and Community Facilities Board recommends that Council approve the name “Mystic” for the neighborhood park. |
