Discussion and possible action to adopt the recommended name, Discovery Park, for the Special Use Park, located at El Mirage Road and Westward Skies. |
| | | | | | | | Summary:
This developer built special use park encompasses 13.68 acres, of which approximately 12 acres are considered usable for park development. The park is located adjacent to the recently constructed American Leadership Academy (ALA) K-12 school. This special use park currently includes a baseball and softball field as well as a lighted multi-purpose field. It will also include shaded inclusive playgrounds, shaded picnic ramadas, a lighted basketball court, restrooms, and a parking lot facility. Future amenities include a lighted pickleball court and light features for the baseball and softball fields. This park is currently under construction and is expected to be added to the city’s parks inventory at the beginning of FY27. |
