Discussion and possible action to adopt RES. 2026-23 abandoning the City's interest of an Easement for Water Line as recorded in 20240625211 and re-recorded 20250469094, located within land owned by The Roman Catholic Church of the Diocese of Phoenix north of Amkor Way and west of Lake Pleasant Parkway.

As part of the CAP/LPP Intersection Wellfield project, the City obtained a water line easement from the Diocese parcels to provide a looped system for the infrastructure north of the Loop 303. At the time of dedication, the extent of the backbone infrastructure within the area now known as Core 2, was specific to support the wellfield project. The infrastructure network supporting Core 2 places the water lines within public roadways removing the need to extend a water line within the Diocese parcels. |

- 12/16/25 – Council approved entering into a Reimbursement Agreement with the Diocese regarding public infrastructure supporting development within Core 2
-12/17/24 – Council approved entering into an Intergovernmental Agreement with the AZ State Land Department for the Peoria Innovation Core.
-6/11/24 – Council approved entering into a Well Site Drilling, Design Services and Construction Exchange Agreement with the Diocese. |

Staff recommends that City Council approve the adoption of the attached Resolution authorizing the abandonment of an Easement for Water Line located north of Amkor Way west of Lake Pleasant Parkway. |

There is no fiscal impact to the City associated with releasing this easement area. |
